My name is Jennifer Cook. Please call me Jenny.
I come from Newcastle, Australia. It’s is a small city 165 kilometres north of Sydney. It takes about 2 hours by car. I am an English teacher at Newcastle University Language Centre. We teach students from all over the world. Sometimes they come for a short time or sometimes for a longer time to prepare for an undergraduate or postgraduate course in Australia. Newcastle is a good place to study because it has lots of international students and friendly local people. It has beautiful beaches and is close to popular tourist attractions such as the Hunter Valley wine region, the Reptile Park (you can cuddle a koala), and Port Stephens (you can swim with dolphins).
Newcastle University and Shohoku College have had a long relationship. This is my second time to come here. I was here in 2007. I arrived on April 10 and I’ll be here until August 5. I’ll teach some English classes and I’ll host English Lounge on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My office is on the 4th floor of Building 1. Please say hello if you see me around the campus or come to my office for a chat! I look forward to meeting you!
